Earthquake in pakistan Across Different cities Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Surrounding Areas

On April 12, 2025, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake struck Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and nearby regions, causing residents to evacuate buildings in alarm. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the earthquake happened at 12:31 PM, with its center located approximately 8 kilometers southeast of Rawalpindi at a deepness of 17 kilometers. ​

Earthquakes were also felt in locations including Murree, Swat, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Malakand, and parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). ​

In response to the tremors, many individuals left their homes and workplaces, seeking safety in open spaces. Authorities have reported no casualties or significant property damage at this time. Emergency services are on high alert, and officials have advised the public to remain calm and prepared for potential aftershocks.
